Michigan Corporations May Now Renew Their Assumed Names Online

If your business received a Certificate of Renewal of Assumed Name from the State of Michigan, you may be eligible to renew your assumed name online. From now until  December 31, 2017, entities who received these Certificates of Renewal will be eligible to renew their assumed names online for five years. Eligible entities include corporations, limited liability companies and limited partnerships.

As of now, all corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships, using an assumed name in a joint venture or partnership must file the assumed name renewal simultaneously. These types of business entities can only renew their assumed names through mail, MICH-ELF, or in-person at the Corporation, Securities, and Commercial Licensing office.

Eligible entities can make their payments through the following link, if they have their six-digit corporation filing number.
