Approval Given By Board Of Accountancy For Bookkeeping in Medical Marijuana Operations

CPA’s who wish to service clients in the medical marijuana industry no longer have to feel uncertain, as the Department and Board of Accountancy released a statement on  May 19, 2017 that a licensee may offer professional services to clients involved in the industry. Interested CPA’s are advised to maintain compliance with current professional standards when dealing with clients who are operating under the letter of the law. Medical marijuana operations may be professionally served to the extent that administrative rules and trade practices are followed. In short, CPA’s do not need to worry about facing action from the Board solely for servicing clientele in the medical marijuana industry, as it is not prohibited by the Occupational Code.
