Milking the System

Dairy providers in Michigan, as well as 14 other states, have reached a $52 million dollar settlement and you may be entitled to a piece of the pie.  The underlying lawsuit alleged that the dairy providers attempted to limit the production of raw farm milk by prematurely slaughtering cows, in order to illegally increase the price of milk and other fresh milk products.  As a result, any individual or organization that purchased milk in the last 14 years could receive a refund from the settlement.

By filing your claim at: BoughtMilk you may be able to secure an award of $10-$20 for dairy products purchased in an individual capacity. Schools and other non-government entities may also file a claim if they provided dairy products to students who were not charged for them. These claims could result in awards between $280 and $560.

Take heed that in order to qualify, the dairy products must not have been purchased for resale. File your claim by January 31st for your claim to be processed.
